About
Julia Rogerson is an artist living and working in Norfolk. Born in London, but brought up in Kent, she studied sculpture at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts from 1971 to 1975, then undertook postgraduate studies at the Slade from 1975 to 1977.
On leaving the Slade she was awarded a Boise Travel Scholarship which enabled her to visit Italy – a connection she has maintained, spending a month there every summer since 1990.
She has lived in Norfolk since 1977 with her husband, the archaeologist, Andrew Rogerson. While raising two sons, she worked as a part-time art teacher in Norwich and Wayland Prisons (1990-2005). During this time she concentrated on her drawing, but has recently been able to return to sculpting.
